Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is the largest Greek university. The main campus is located in the city center while some of its facilities, either educational or administrative, are located outside the campus or in other cities. In total, it includes 10 schools, made up of 40 departments and 1 single-department school. There are 61 Clinics (Medical, Dental, Veterinary), 295 institutionalized Laboratories and 23 Schools. The Central Library of the University, one of the largest in the Balkans, together with the 45 regional libraries of the Departments and Schools (17 of which are institutionalized) make up the library system of the University. AUTH operates 41 undergraduate study programs and 92 postgraduate study programs in individual departments, as well as inter-departmental, inter-university and international. There are still 23 collaborations with foreign Institutions for the preparation of doctoral theses, Greek and foreign doctoral candidates with co-supervision. Currently, 73,930 students study in its Schools and Departments, of which 65,026 attend undergraduate study programs and 8,472 graduate programs (of which, 3,952 are PhD candidates). The Teaching and Research Staff amounts to 2,024 people, the Laboratory Teaching Staff to 287 people and the Special Educational Staff to 53. In the educational work, another 134 members of the Special of Technical Laboratory Staff, while 245 permanent employees work in the administration and 294 with a Private Law Indefinite Term contract.

Founded in 2016 in Munich, Germany, SpeedLab GmbH is a company of the SpeedLab AG group based in Zug, Switzerland, which was founded in 2014. In 2017, a branch of the group was established in Thessaloniki with VAT number 997997992, FAE Thessaloniki, which will also undertake the execution of the project. The purpose of the operation of the Thessaloniki branch is the design, development and control of software systems using technical market analysis, modern statistical methods and deep learning methods to predict the movement of the price of financial products and automated portfolio management in order to reduce investment risk and increasing investor returns.
